Payment Responsibility – General

Sending a child to MUI/NJ represents a significant financial investment for the average family. At the same time, running a school like ours, with all our programs and facilities, is a costly proposition. Our families are very special people who recognize and appreciate that an investment in education truly does pay the best dividends. Attending the school is a privilege and not a right, and the school retains the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether to select a student for admission, to re-enroll a student, or to require a student to withdraw from the school during the academic year.

Please keep in mind that enrollment in the school is for the entire academic year, from September to June. All independent private schools have countless expenses of a continuing nature that must be met, such as maintenance, salaries, curriculum, books and supplies. To keep tuition as reasonable as possible we must operate on a carefully prepared budget. MUI-NJ’s tuition is calculated as one student’s share of the year’s operating expenses; therefore, it is essential that our annual income from tuition be assured. Report cards will not be issued at the close of the school year if your account is not paid in full. All school books, equipment, etc. must be returned prior to the close of school. No records of any sort will be released until your account is paid in full and all school property is returned.

Security Deposit

A security deposit equal to two weeks of tuition per child must be paid and maintained for each child enrolled. This deposit is non-interest bearing and is applied to the child’s last two weeks of tuition.

Returned Check Fee

Checks returned to the school by the bank, for whatever reason, are subject to a charge of $25.00. If the check cannot be re-deposited or is not replaced within five (5) days, your account will be subject to late payment charges.

Late Payment Fee

It is the responsibility of each family to keep MUI informed of their need to change their preferred tuition payment plan or adjust the amount of tuition expected to be paid. Without such information, the following policy will apply when tuition payments are received late. A charge of $15.00 will be applied to your account if your tuition is not paid by the agreed upon date. Continued default by the family will jeopardize the student’s continuation at MUI.

Refund Policy

Full tuition is due regardless of sick/vacation days, as there is no refund, roll over or discount tuition pursuant to sick/vacation days. Also, no tuition refunds will be granted if a child is absent, on extended vacation or if there is an emergency school closing. With a required two weeks’ notice to MUI, families withdrawing students after registration, but before the start of school will receive a full tuition refund. Families withdrawing students during the school year will be issued a refund pro-rated over the number of months the student was enrolled at MUI. Note that the tuition will be withheld without the requisite advanced withdrawal notice. Also, a student enrolled for any part of a month will be charged for the whole month.

Default

Under any breach of our obligations under this Tuition Contract, we agree that the school may accelerate the balance due under the terms of this Tuition Contract, enforce its rights, suspend the Student’s enrollment, and withhold transcripts and or grade reports from the Student, from us or any other third party.

Payments

For now all payments can be made in the following ways: log into MUINJ.org or Cash App $NJMUI or Zelle 551-580-8956.

Payment Options

• Option A – Payment in Full: the entire amount of tuition may be paid on or before Friday, 9/4/2026. A prepayment reduction amount of 10% of the full tuition will apply to full payments only.
• Option B – Semester Payment: the entire amount of tuition may be paid in 2 installments with 1/2 of the tuition due on Friday, 9/4/2026 and the other half due on Monday, 1/4/27.
• Option C – 10 Monthly Payments: the entire tuition may be paid in 10 equal installments over 10 months beginning Monday 9/7/26 and due on the 1st Monday of the month.
• Option D – Bi-Weekly Payments: the entire tuition may be paid in 20 equal installments over 10 months beginning Monday 9/7/26, due on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month.
• Option E – Weekly Payments: the entire tuition may be paid in 40 equal installments over a 10-month period beginning Monday 9/7/26, due every Monday.

Fundraising Commitment

• Plan A: I will participate in the fall and spring fundraisers.
• Plan B: I will participate in either the fall or spring fundraiser. I will pay an additional $250.00 in tuition.
• Plan C: I will not be able to participate in the fall or spring fundraiser. Please add an additional $500.00 to my tuition per child.
